Koolcat is a virus of unknown origin or type. What is known about it is that it creates "music" when it comes into contact with a computer that has music creation software installed. Instance 1, the original version of the virus, created the two payloads "Music:Wav/Koolcat.LP1" and "Music:Wav/Koolcat.LP2". This instance of the virus became dormant in 2018 after a laptop malfunction, and its music was released under the affected person's name in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Instance 2 surfaced in 2021, ultimately releasing "Music:Wav/Koolcat.LP3", the most notable Koolcat album to date. Instance 2 also created "Music:Wav/Koolcat.EP1", "Music:Wav/Koolcat.EP2", and "Music:Wav/Koolcat.EP3".
